Sculptra Aesthetic® is a time tested dermal filler that actually stimulates collagen to address the causes of facial aging. Sculptra is injected over 2 to 3 office visits to replace lost collagen and to give support to the skin structure. The active ingredient in Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid collagen stimulator. Poly-L-lactic acid is a biodegradable, biocompatible synthetic material that is commonly found in dissolvable sutures. Sculptra is injected deep into the dermis and as the poly-L-lactic acid microparticles are naturally absorbed, they help to stimulate collagen production. More collagen means more volume and Sculptra improves the appearance of volume in the midfacial region and lines and wrinkles.*
