How does a Salicylic peel work?
Similar to the Glycolic peel, the Salicylic peel promotes the exfoliation of the top layers of damaged skin by removing dead skin cells. Once the damaged skin is exfoliated away, patients are left with fresh, healthy smoother skin. Salicylic acid is great for acne clearance and prevention as the acid gently exfoliates the skin and kills acne causing bacteria*. How many peels are needed?
The peel may be repeated as often as every two weeks, if necessary, for damaged skin. Our recommendation for average skin would be once every three months. What are the results?
It takes about four days after patients finish peeling for the skin to return to its normal PH level. The skin will look luminous and glowing*.
